Managing Director, Rules and Association Services Mike Spridco was named USBC Managing Director of Rules and Association Services in January 2012. Prior to being elevated to his new role, Spridco spent more than three years as USBC Director of Rules. Spridco started working for USBC's predecessor organizations as a tournament scheduler for the 1994 Women's International Bowling Congress Championships tournament in Salt Lake City, and also worked the 1995 event in Tucson, Ariz., and the 1996 tournament in Buffalo, N.Y. He became a rules counselor in October 1996 as the three organizations merged support staff to create Bowling Inc. Spridco was promoted to Team Leader of Rules in July 2008. His first job in bowling was as a lane porter at AMF Waukesha Lanes. A USBC Bronze coach, he was involved in the organization of high school bowling at his alma mater, leading the varsity team starting with the 2005-2006 season. He would take the team to state two out of the three seasons. He also served as president of Wisconsin High School District 1 during the 2007-2008 season. On the lanes, Spridco has a high game of 296, a high series of 788, and a high average of 208. He attended Wisconsin-Madison. Spridco is married to Joanne and they have two girls, Tara and Jillian. |
