ARLINGTON, Texas - The field of 24 men and 16 women who will compete for individual national championships was determined Friday at four 2012 United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Singles Championships sectional qualifiers.

The USBC Intercollegiate Singles Championships will take place April 17 and 21 at Sun Valley Lanes in Lincoln, Neb., with the men's and women's finals broadcast on CBS Sports Network in May.

Qualifying for the national finals was held in Allentown, Pa.; Euless, Texas; Fairview Heights, Ill.; and Smyrna, Tenn. All participants bowled six games with the top four women and top six men at each site advancing to compete for the national titles.

Brooke Bower of Kutztown led the women's division in Allentown with 1,286 (214.3 average) and advanced along with Amelia Tonyes of St. Francis-N.Y., Brittany Hart of Long Island and Chelsea Essenmacher of Adrian. Essenmacher finished the six games tied with Katie Thornton of Webber International but won the ninth and 10th frame roll-off, 60-26, to advance.

Last season's collegiate player of the year Jazreel Tan of Wichita State blew away the field in Euless with 1,344 (224 average). Also moving on was Nicole Parkhurst of Stephen F. Austin, Jordeen Koizumi of Arizona State and Rachel Schalow of Viterbo.

Elise Bolton of Nebraska took the top spot in Fairview Heights with 1,382 (230.3 average). Kaitlin Quinn of Bellarmine, Amanda Dodd of Calumet and Georgia Drewes of Newman also advanced.

In Smyrna, Sarah Lokker of Arkansas State finished on top with 1,315 (219.1 average) and will be joined at nationals by Addileen Pointer of Alabama A&M, Brandi Branka of McKendree and Katelyn Zwiefelhofer of Wisconsin-Whitewater.

On the men's side, Daniel Spink of Lindenwood led the Allentown sectional with 1,374 (229 average) and was joined by Kevin Donovan of Corning CC, Cory Barber of Rochester Tech, Jeremy Milito of Stony Brook, Cruise Webster of Webber International and Marcelo Suartz of Webber International all advanced.

In the Euless sectional, three of the six spots went to Wichita State bowlers with Francois Lavoie leading with 1,389 (231.5 average). Geoffrey Young and Kevin Tatrow also advanced for Wichita State and were joined by Joe Steiner of Midland, Matthew Krueger of Viterbo and Aaron Johnston of West Texas A&M in advancing.

Fairview Heights was led by Aaron Morgan of Toledo with 1,395 (232.5 average). Other advancing players were Neil Cooley of Minnesota State, Anthony Fiorenzo of Calumet, Blake Paris of Lindenwood, Charles Easton of Toledo and Chris Pierson of Robert Morris-Illinois.

Florida Atlantic's Chris Spoo led the men's field in Smyrna with 1,326 (221 average) and advanced along with Cody Shoemaker of Saginaw Valley State, Lucas Hohnstein of Pikeville, Adam C. Johnson of McKendree, Mike Conn of Morehead State and Benjamin Hainsey of Florida State.
