Painter continues to roll at ITRC Super Senior Classic

Second round standings

ARLINGTON, Texas -
Defending champion Kerry Painter of Henderson, Nevada, continued his dominating performance at the 2014 International Training and Research Center Super Senior Classic and maintained his lead over the 38-player field for the second consecutive day.

The 61-year-old right-hander put together a second-round block of 1,791 on Thursday to finish with a 16-game total of 3,592 at the ITRC. Jim Knoblauch of Waukesha, Wisconsin, sits in second with 3,430, and Howard Partell of Las Vegas is third with 3,403. Pete McCordic of Katy, Texas, the runner-up in 2013, is fourth with 3,366.

All competitors bowled 16 games of qualifying over two days before the field was cut to the top 10 for the cashers' round. An additional four games will determine the five finalists for the stepladder finals.

Paul McCordic of Sugar Land, Texas, secured the final spot in the cashers' round with a 3,277 total, a 204.8 average.

Every round of the 2014 Super Senior Classic is being broadcast live on BOWL.com's BowlTV, and competition continues Friday at 11:30 a.m. EDT. The stepladder finals will air at 4:30 p.m. Eastern.

The Super Senior Classic is open to all USBC members age 60 and older.
