The Robert Morris-Illinois men and Calumet women were victorious at the Bowlstrong Collegiate Classic in Springfield, Illinois, this past weekend.

The tournament at King Pin Lanes featured 40 Baker games with total pinfall determining the champions.

The Robert Morris-Illinois men cruised to the top spot by more than 550 pins over the field, finishing the two-day event with an 8,619 total. St. Francis-Illinois took second with 8,049, and Illinois State rounded out the top three with 7,731.

Calumet overcame a 98-pin deficit in the final four games to rally to the program's first title on the women's side with a 7,662 total, finishing 23 pins ahead of Robert Morris-Illinois (7,639). St. Francis-Illinois finished third with 7,562.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:


- At the Montclair Open, which included two separate events, the Arizona State men held off San Jose State at each event for the sweep.

- At the Virginia Union University Invitational in Midlothian, Virginia, top-seeded Valparaiso defeated Felician College in the championship match, 4-1.

- At the Hawk Classic Invitational in Millsboro, Delaware, Central Missouri won the final three games to outlast Vanderbilt for the title, 4-3.

- At the Bowling Green State University Falcon Classic in Rossford, Ohio, the Concordia men and Wright State women secured the top spot.

- At the Striking Knight Classic in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, the Lindenwood men and women rolled to victory.

- At the Bronco Open in Hastings, Nebraska, the Hastings women and Nebraska-Lincoln men paced the field.
