USBC Convention heads to Reno, Nevada in 2018

ARLINGTON, Texas – The 2018 United States Bowling Congress Convention and Annual Meeting will take place at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Nevada, from April 23-26.

The USBC Board of Directors approved the 2018 convention site, which will keep the annual convention in the same host city as a USBC Championships event. The 2018 USBC Women’s Championships will be held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno.

The convention is scheduled to end on a Thursday, as feedback from delegates showed having the convention run on a Monday-through-Thursday schedule was preferred.

“Many delegates are volunteers who devote their personal time to attend the convention, so it was important to develop a schedule based on their feedback,” USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. “Keeping the convention alongside a USBC Championships event also is important, as it allows delegates to visit and participate in a national tournament.”

The 2017 USBC Convention will take place in Las Vegas, site of the 2017 USBC Open Championships.

The USBC Convention and Annual Meeting brings together delegates of USBC associations from across the country who take part in seminars, presentations of national awards and scholarships, and legislative sessions. Delegates have the opportunity to hear from industry representatives, vote for national board members, and vote on legislative proposals.

The USBC Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony also are scheduled in conjunction with the USBC Convention.
