The Hastings men and Midland women each rolled from the top seed to their respective titles at the Hastings Bronco Open last weekend in Hastings, Nebraska.

The Hastings Bronco Open featured six traditional games and 16 Baker games to determine the eight men's teams and four women's teams that advanced to the match-play bracket at Pastime Lanes. The bracket featured best-of-three Baker matches.

The men's title match went to the deciding third game as Hastings, which led qualifying with an 8,648 total, faced off against No. 2 Nebraska. The Broncos defeated the Huskers in the finale, 207-190, to record the 2-1 victory. Hastings earned its spot in the title match by defeating No. 4 Kansas Wesleyan in the semifinals, while Nebraska bested No. 3 Midland.

Kansas Wesleyan's John Bredehoeft fired 258 in his final game to top the men's individual standings with a 1,239 six-game total, a 206.5 average. Nebraska's Vincent Bachteler and Midland's Noah Werner tied for second place with 1,229, and Nebraska's Benjamin Burbine took fourth with 1,198. The fifth spot was shared by Hastings' Blake Earnest and Central Missouri's Chris Seagraves, who each finished with 1,195.

The Midland women went undefeated in the bracket as the No. 1 seed, sweeping Hastings in the title match, 2-0. Midland began its run by defeating Kansas Wesleyan, 2-0, while Hastings went the distance against Morningside to advance to the finals, 2-1.

Midland also claimed the top two spots in the women's individual standings as Candice Goldfinch (1,169) and Taylor Nguyen (1,156) led the way. Student-athletes from Hastings completed the all-tournament team as Amanda Tyra (1,124), Harmonie Trenn (1,123) and Krystanna Haney (1,113) rounded out the top five.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

- At the Hornet Classic in Montgomery, Alabama, the Texas Southern women knocked off Alabama State in the title match, 4-2.

- At the Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Delaware, the Sam Houston State women won a back-and-forth title match against Monmouth, 4-3.

- At the Bowling Green State Falcon Classic in Rossford, Ohio, the Wright State women rolled to victory, while the Concordia men finished strong in Baker competition to take home the win.

- At the Oak Tree Open, the Nevada-Las Vegas men finished in the top spot.

- At the Striking Knight Classic in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, the Lindenwood men and Pikeville women coasted to victories.
