2011-2012 Playing Rules
The USBC Playing Rules and Commonly Asked Questions was not printed for the 2011-2012 season.
There are significant changes in Chapter 1- Introduction and Chapter 3 - Awards. All changes are in red.

Instructions for the Kindle
Using Kindle's USB Connection
- Save the MOBI file to a safe location on your computer.
- Plug the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the USB port on your Kindle.
- Open My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
- Under Devices with Removable Storage, select Kindle.
- Open the Documents folder.
- Open a second instance of My Computer or Finder.
- Navigate to the directory where you saved the MOBI file in Step1.
- Copy the 2010-2011PlayingRules.mobi file.
- Paste the 2010-2011PlayingRules.mobi file in the Documents folder on the Kindle.
- On your computer, unmount or eject your Kindle.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the Kindle and computer.
- On the Kindle (with it on), press the HOME button.
- Browse through the available items for the 2010-2011PlayingRules (the word NEW should appear next to the title before you view the book the first time).
- Select the book and enjoy!
Using Kindle's Personal Document Service*
- Save the MOBI file to a safe location on your computer.
- Open an email account that is on your Kindle's approved e-maillist.
- Create a new e-mail message.
- Use your Kindle's e-mail address in the to field.
- Attach the 2010-2011PlayingRules.mobi file to the message.
- Send the message.
- Your document should appear in the book listing on your Kindle within five minutes.

Instructions for the iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPad
Using iTunes
- Save the EPUB file to a safe location on your computer.
- Open iTunes (version 9.1 or higher required).
- Open the Files menu and select Add to Library.
- Browse to the file location in Step 1.
- Select the 2010-2011PlayingRules.epub file and click Open.
- Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iTouch to your computer.
- Sync your device.
- Disconnect your device from your computer.
- Open the iBooks app on your device*.
- Browse through the available items for the 2010-2011Playing Rules.
- Select the book and enjoy!
*If you do not have the iBooksapp, it is available for free in the App Store.
Instructions for the Android
Using Android USB Connection
- Save the EPUB file to a safe location on your computer.
- Plug the USB cable into an available USB port on your computer.
- Connect the other end of the cable to the USB port on your Android.
- Wait for the notification icon to show up on your phone's status bar.
- Open the notifications panel (touch the panel and drag down the status bar with your finger).
- Tap the USB Connected option that appears.
- Tap Mount.
- Open My Computer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
- Under Devices with Removable Storage, select the Android drive.
- Navigate to the media folder, then the ebooks folder (if thisfolder does not exist, create it now).
- Open a second instance of My Computer or Finder.
- Navigate to the directory where you saved the EPUB file in Step1.
- Copy the 2010-2011PlayingRules.epub file.
- Paste the 2010-2011PlayingRules.epub file in the media/ebooks folder on the Android.
- On your computer, unmount or eject your Android.
- Disconnect the USB cable from the Android and computer.
- On the Android, open the Books WordPlayer reading app*.
- Tap Load EPUB from SDCARD.
- Tap media, then ebooks, then 2010-2011PlayingRules-USBCRulesDepartment.epub.
- When you receive the important complete dialog, tap Open to read the book.
*The BooksWordPlayer app is one of several free options available for reading books on the Android. If you do not have the BooksWordPlayer app, it is available for free in the Android Market.
Instructions for Firefox
Using the EPUB Reader Add-On
- Download the EPUB Reader Add-On from the Firefox website.
- When prompted, restart Firefox and click OK on the prompt to restart tabs.
- Click the link at the top of this page to open the EPUB file in the reader.
If you have the EPUB Reader Add-On installed, you can save a copy of the EPUB by clicking the Save icon on the bottom toolbar.
