Bowling Superstitions

Bowling Superstitions

HighFive
There is no shortage of high-fives among bowlers.

When the strikes start adding up, most of the time it’s skill. Sometimes, though, maybe a little luck is involved. Some folks may get a little superstitious, so if it isn’t broke, don’t fix it!

Here’s a few things you might see a bowler do to keep the strikes coming.

Some bowlers have a very meticulous pre-shot routine. It keeps them in a familiar rhythm and helps them prepare for each frame. If something happens before they make their way to the approach – say, they simply need to re-tie a shoelace – and it happens to work, you may just see that added to the list.

Some bowlers just don’t like seeing splits. Who would? But some take it to the next level. If they happen to see a split on a lane near them, they will let that poor soul finish their frame before they will even think about stepping onto the approach for their first shot. Nobody wants to see a split when working on a string of strikes!

Bathroom breaks are a no-no for some bowlers when they’ve got the strikes rolling. It can wait for after the game!

Getting a high-five from a certain teammate (or even someone you’re facing off against) before each shot is the ticket for some competitors. There’s nothing like a high-five or two to get you excited about the next strike!

So there’s a few superstitions you may see out on the lanes, or maybe to add to your list!
