Wichita State men, women sweep Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational

LAS VEGAS - The Wichita State men and women both swept Webber International on Wednesday en route to victories at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational, which is a major event on the USBC Collegiate schedule. The entire event was broadcast live on BowlTV.

The Wichita State men had little trouble disposing of Webber International in a 2-0 victory in the best-of-three match. In the semifinals, Wichita State beat William Penn, 2-0, while Webber took down Urbana, 2-1.

In the men's individual standings, Geoffrey Young of Wichita State led the way with a nine-game total of 2,092. Lucas Hohnstein of Pikeville was second with 2,013, while Kasey Kolczak of Weber State was third with 1,965.

The women's championship match was a carbon copy of the men's with Wichita State taking down Webber International, 2-0. Wichita defeated Midland, 2-0, in the semifinals, while Webber took down Pikeville, 2-0.

Pikeville's Kim Yioulos won top individual honors for the women with a nine-game total of 1,932. Midland's Katie Maher was second with 1,929, while Jazreel Tan of Wichita State was third with 1,926.
