USBC Youth members watch Masters

ARLINGTON, Texas - Mike Fagan won his first career major title Sunday at the 2012 Alka-Seltzer Plus Liquid Gels United States Bowling Congress Masters, and USBC Youth members in the Henderson, Nev., area had the chance to watch the final matches and to meet the new champion.

Fagan, a three-time winner on the Professional Bowlers Association Tour, trailed early in the title match against top-seed Chris Barnes. But Fagan managed to make a 30-pin comeback for a 246-213 victory at Sunset Station's Strike Zone Bowling Center.

Masters kids 2012Through the PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour, USBC Youth members from the Southern Nevada USBC had the opportunity to go behind the scenes and then were able to watch their favorite bowlers from VIP seats. Following his victory, the USBC Youth bowlers went onto the approach to have their picture taken with Fagan.

Sporting their USBC Youth jerseys, the USBC Youth members with Fagan are (from left): Joe Gerencser, Terrance (T.J.) Rock, Tyler Hedges, Leah Glazer, Nicholas Pollak and Douglas Csanyi. All compete in the youth program at Strike Zone Bowling Center except for Pollak, who is in the youth program at Gold Coast Bowling Center.

This is the third season of the PBA/USBC Insiders' Tour. Through the program, the PBA Tour has provided USBC Youth members special access at PBA events so they can meet the tour's stars and get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens during a PBA Tour stop. The attendees also receive special seats for the championship matches. Program participants were randomly selected from area USBC Youth bowlers.
