Anderson, S.C. –
Gary Morgan of Atlanta, Ga., defeated Todd Wilson of Summerfield, N.C., 249-184, to win his 13th Professional Bowlers Association regional title in the South Region Anderson Senior Open at Boulevard Lanes Sunday.

Morgan earned $1,500 for the win while Wilson earned $900 as the runner-up. Morgan said a change in his new finger pitch grip was the key to his victory.

In the semifinal round, Morgan defeated Mark Pickford, Charlotte, N.C., 205-179, and Wilson defeated Mark McNutt, Alpharetta, Ga., 213-184, to set up the championship match.

Hall Of Famer George Pappas of Charlotte, N.C., rolled the only two 300 games in the event, one in qualifying and one in the round of 16, and both on the same pair of lanes.

The PBA South Region’s next tournament will be Fayetteville Open at LaFayette Lanes in Fayetteville, N.C., August 3-5.
