New program to provide bowling balls to high schools

The Bowling Foundation, Bowling Proprietors' Association of America, United States Bowling Congress and industry partners Classic Bowling Products, Brunswick Bowling and Billiards Corporation and The National Business Association are committed to making bowling available to everyone by providing high school varsity teams and varsity team club members quality bowling equipment.

The High School Bowling Grant program will award bowling balls to applicants based on financial eligibility, and the equipment will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. High school teams must be registered with the USBC High School Team Membership to take part in the program.

"This is a great program for qualified varsity high school bowlers who might not be able to compete without our help," said Steven Johnson, Executive Director of the BPAA. "We appreciate our partners, Brunswick Bowling and Billiards Corporation and Classic Bowling Products for providing the equipment to further our goal of making bowling available to all."

The bowling balls are standard high-performance balls with some superficial imperfections, with weights from 10 to 16 pounds.
