• Wichita St., Midland win Vegas Invite

    HENDERSON, Nev. - The Wichita State women and Midland men emerged undefeated in bracket play to claim the titles at the Glenn Carlson Las Vegas Invitational on Thursday.

    RESULTS: Men | Women

    Wichita State, fresh off a victory in the women's division at the Collegiate Shoot-Out, won the best-of-five title match 3-1 over Webber International. In the semifinals, Wichita State swept West Texas A&M, while Webber International swept Midland.

    In the men's division, Midland took down Calumet 3-1 to claim the title. Midland won in the semifinals over the No. 1 seed, Webber International, 3-1, while Calumet defeated second seed Wichita State, 3-1.

    Jazreel Tan of Wichita State claimed top individual honors among the women with a nine-game total of 1,980. Webber International's Katie Thornton finished second with 1,915, while Midland's Sabrena Divis was third with 1,906.

    Webber International's Colin Champion finished first in the men's division with a nine-game total of 1,967. Minnesota State's Dale Boynton fired a 300 game en route to a second-place total of 1,935, while Wichita State's Miguel Lopez was third with 1,921.
