• Robert Morris-Illinois sweeps Keystone

    The Robert Morris-Illinois men and women swept the titles at the 2012 Roto Grip Keystone Quaker Classic on Friday, picking up major victories on the USBC Collegiate schedule.

    RESULTS: Men | Women

    The RMU men rolled to an easy victory, outpacing the closest team by 480 pins, to pick up the USBC Collegiate Tier I win at Playdrome Rose Bowl in Allentown, Pa. They finished with 9,444 to take the top spot with Notre Dame-Ohio finishing second at 8,954. William Paterson was third with 8,893.

    On the women's side, Robert Morris took the win with a total of 8,615, topping second-place Pikeville's tally of 8,497. Marian finished third with 8,420.

    RMU also took the top two spots in the men's individual standings with Marshall Kent finishing first with a five-game total of 1,147 (229.4 average) and Jacob Kent taking second with 1,130. Domenick Luongo Jr. of St. John's was third with 1,127.

    In the women's individual standings, Ashley Copley of Pikeville finished on top with a five-game total of 1,103 (220.6 average). Robert Morris' Caitlin Hofmann (1,037) and Courtney Dutton (1,003) finished second and third, respectively.

    The teams will compete Saturday and Sunday in another USBC Collegiate Tier I event in Allentown when the Lehigh Valley Collegiate Classic takes place at AMF Parkway Lanes.
