    The Mount Mercy women and St. Ambrose men escaped bracket play undefeated to become the Midwest Collegiate Conference champions at Cherry Lanes in Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, Iowa, over the weekend.

    2012-13 TickerIn the women's final, Mount Mercy took down St. Ambrose in the best-of-three title match, 2-1. The St. Ambrose men defeated Viterbo in the title match 2-0.

    Rachel Schalow of Viterbo led the women's individual standings with a six-game total of 1,263. St. Ambrose's Aretha Williams was second with 1,229, while Kelsey Johnson of William Penn was third with 1,225.

    Ashford's Shane Schaefer earned top individual honors on the men's side with a six-game total of 1,351. Joe Kopera of St. Ambrose finished second with 1,345, while Drew Balta of William Penn was third with 1,301.

    HOOSIER CLASSIC STARTS SATURDAY:BowlTV will provide free live streaming of the biggest event of the USBC Collegiate season - the Backhaul Direct Hoosier Classic. A field of 78 men's teams and 60 women's teams are expected to compete.
