Buffalo to host 2014 youth events

ARLINGTON, Texas - The Buffalo, N.Y., area will play host to bowling's biggest youth tournaments in 2014 - the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships and the United States Bowling Congress Youth Open Championships.
The North Pointe Junior Gold Championships, which are presented by Track, Columbia 300, Ebonite and Hammer, was last held in Buffalo in 2007.
"We are excited to take these prestigious events to the Buffalo area in 2014," said Chad Murphy, International Bowling Campus Managing Director of Youth Development. "Buffalo was a popular destination for our bowlers in 2007, and I anticipate there will be a lot of excitement surrounding the 2014 event as well."
The Junior Gold Championships, which will be conducted July 12-18, 2014, will utilize six bowling centers in the Buffalo area - AMF Thruway Lanes, Transit Lanes, AMF Airport Lanes, Classic Lanes, Tonawanda Bowling Center and AMF Lancaster Lanes.
The USBC Youth Open Championships will be contested July 10-27, while the North Pointe Junior Gold Survivor Tournament presented by xbowling will be held July 17-18.

The Junior Gold Championships features the top youth bowlers in the nation competing for national titles in four divisions - U15 boys, U15 girls, U20 boys, U20 girls - and for spots on Junior Team USA in addition to a large pool of scholarships. The USBC Youth Open Championships is open to all USBC Youth members. It has four age-based divisions (U8, U12, U15 and U20).
