Dexter extends title sponsorship

ARLINGTON, Texas - Dexter Bowling will remain the title sponsor of the United States Bowling Congress High School All-American Team through 2016 after reaching a three-year partnership agreement with USBC.

Each school year since 2005-2006, five male and five female USBC High School members have been selected for the Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team. Each All-American receives a $1,000 scholarship.

"We're excited to continue our association with USBC in the promotion and recognition of youth bowlers," said Bud Clapsaddle, Dexter Shoe Company Vice President. "Selection to the Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team means more than accomplishments on the lanes, but also making contributions in one's community. It is important to continue to recognize the young leaders who will represent our sport for years to come."

In addition, Dexter Bowling will continue to sponsor the coach and player luncheon at the Intercollegiate Team Championships.

"We appreciate Dexter Bowling's continued support of high school and collegiate bowling," USBC Executive Director Stu Upson said. "The Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team began nearly a decade ago and continues to the one of the most prestigious honors a high school bowler can achieve."

Each year, high school coaches and team administrators nominate eligible contenders for the Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team. Selection to the team is based on bowling accomplishments, academic achievement, letters of recommendation, extracurricular activities and community involvement.

Those selected to the Dexter/USBC All-American Team are presented their awards at the North Pointe Junior Gold Championships in July.
