New North Central Texas Association formed

Bowlers in the Fort Worth area can look forward to service from the new North Central Texas USBC association to start the new season. North Central Texas USBC is incorporated with a new type of association structure. The association is governed by a seven-member local board of directors who took office on August 1, 2012.

The new board members are David Clay of Arlington, David Davis of Burleson, Dennis DeLoose of North Richland Hills, Jeanne Hester of Weatherford, Ken Korn of Arlington, Christine Parkes of Mansfield and Rob See of Fort Worth.

At a meeting in early August, the board members determined officers. Davis was elected president, DeLoose is vice president, Hester is secretary and Parkes was named treasurer. The board soon will move to hire a manager to handle association operations. USBC headquarters staff will continue to provide assistance with operations as requested by the new association board as needed.

The new association takes over following the charter revocation of Greater Fort Worth Metroplex USBC earlier this year due lack of compliance with IRS regulations and USBC policy.

“This new board of directors provides a great mix of association experience and fresh perspective for the bowlers of North Texas,” USBC Managing Director of Rules and Association Services Mike Spridco said. “I am confident everyone in leadership of the new and former association will work together in the bowlers’ best interest on a smooth transition.”

Each bowling center in the association will be invited to designate an association liaison to assist the new board with USBC programs and grassroots communications. The association will continue to provide tournaments, local recognition and other programs offered by USBC, as well as have delegate representation at the USBC Annual Meeting.”
