St. Ambrose picked up a pair of victories last weekend at the Boilermaker Classic, sweeping the men's and women's titles in Lafayette, Indiana.

The Boilermaker Classic was held at Mike Aulby's Arrowhead Bowl and included 20 men's varsity teams and 13 women's varsity teams. Competition featured five traditional games Saturday and 16 Baker games Sunday, with total pinfall determining the champions.

The St. Ambrose men averaged better than 204 as a team Saturday and led the field by more than 200 pins. They rolled to the win with a final total of 8,262. Robert Morris-Illinois finished second with 8,026, and Calumet was third with 7,969.

St. Ambrose's Brenden Sramek fired a five-game total of 1,131 (226.2 average) to claim the top spot in the individual standings. Vincennes' Tyler Perry recorded a second-place finish with 1,119, while Robert Morris-Illinois' Justin O'Shaughnessy (1,113), Mount Mercy's Aaron Johnson (1,070) and McKendree's Greg Young (1,067) also earned spots on the all-tournament team.

On the women's side, the Fighting Bees put together a dominating performance, winning by more than 400 pins with a 7,660 total. Robert Morris-Illinois took home second with 7,241, and Mount Mercy finished third with 7,043.

St. Ambrose had three student-athletes make the women's all-tournament team, which included the top two overall performances. Kayla Crawford (1,054) edged teammate Natalie Koprowitz (1,049) for the top spot, while Hayley Ryan finished fourth with 982. Huntington's Brianna Cearbaugh finished second with 1,007, and Britney Brown of Robert Morris-Illinois rounded out the top five with 960.

- At the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference I and II in Shreveport, Louisiana, the Springhill men and women finished the weekend by sweeping the top spots.

- At the Cardinal Classic in Muncie, Indiana, the Cumberlands women and Northwestern Ohio men each snuck past Wright State to collect wins.

- At the Great Lakes Bowling Conference I in Bloomington, Minnesota, the Wisconsin-Whitewater men and Viterbo women cruised to victory.
