Pepsi, Nationwide continue national sponsorships with pro women’s bowling tour

ARLINGTON, Texas – Nationwide and Pepsi return as national sponsors of the Professional Women’s Bowling Association for the 2018 season and each will be a title sponsor of a PWBA Tour event.

Pepsi, the official soft drink of the PWBA, will be the title sponsor of the PWBA event in Seminole, Florida. Pepsi previously was the title sponsor of the PWBA Lincoln Open, won by Shannon O’Keefe in 2016 and Sin Li Jane in 2017.

The Pepsi PWBA St. Petersburg-Clearwater Open will take place Aug. 2-4 at Seminole Lanes. The 10th stop of the 14-event PWBA Tour schedule, the tournament will be the first PWBA elite-field event, a new element of the tour in 2018.

PWBA elite-field events will consist of the top 24 players on the 2018 PWBA points list after the first eight events of the season, with the remainder of the 32-player field filled through a qualifying tournament.

Nationwide also will have its name on a PWBA Tour stop for the third time, as the Columbus, Ohio-based company will be the title sponsor of the 2018 PWBA event in its hometown.

The Nationwide PWBA Columbus Open is set for Aug. 16-18 at Wayne Webb’s Columbus Bowl. It will be the 12th tour stop and an elite-field event.

Nationwide was title sponsor of the 2016 PWBA Sonoma County Open in Rohnert Park, California, won by O’Keefe, and the 2017 PWBA Rochester (New York) Open won by Danielle McEwan.

The stepladder finals of both the Pepsi PWBA St. Petersburg-Clearwater Open and the Nationwide PWBA Columbus Open will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.

A new name on the PWBA Tour this season will be Vis-Sportswear. The Italian sportswear company has joined the PWBA Tour as an apparel sponsor for the next two years. Vis-Sportswear joins Apparel EFX, High 5 Gear, Kameleon Sportswear and Logo Infusion as approved apparel sponsors of the PWBA.

The following companies are registered accessories for the PWBA in 2018: 3G, Dexter, Eileen's Bowling Buddy, Genesis Bowling, Master Industries, Mongoose Products, Real Bowlers Tape, Robby’s, Turbo Bowling Accessories, Ultimate Bowling Products and VISE Grips.

900 Global, Brunswick, Columbia 300, DV8, Hammer, Motiv, Roto Grip and Storm are Gold level partners with the PWBA for the next three seasons and will be featured at PWBA Tour events. Gold level partners are approved for equipment and for use of their logos on jerseys and apparel. Silver level partners Ebonite and Track are approved for equipment only.

The 2018 PWBA Tour season kicks off April 26 with the PWBA Las Vegas Open at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas and will conclude Sept. 16-19 with the PWBA Tour Championship at the Richmond Raceway Complex in Richmond, Virginia.
