The Wright State women and Toledo men celebrated the holiday season early last weekend by capturing titles at the Bowling Green State Falcon Classic in Rossford, Ohio.

The Falcon Classic was contested at Interstate Lanes and featured 16 women's and 15 men's varsity teams. Teams bowled five traditional games and 12 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the winner in each division.

Wright State found itself down 150 pins to Calumet after Saturday's round, but the Raiders rolled during Sunday's Baker competition to claim the women's title, finishing with a 7,258 total. Calumet held onto second with 7,199, while Alma finished third with 6,988.

Calumet's Lindsey Norton fired a 267 game to kick off competition and never looked back in taking individual honors with a 1,093 total (218.6 average) for the five-game block.

Wright State's Tori Pappas (1,082) and Madison Stiffler (1,080) were second and third, respectively, while Bowling Green State's Britni Hosterman (1,073) and Calumet's Danielle Rudnickas (1,063) rounded out the top five.

On the men's side, Toledo also found its stride in Baker competition, averaging better than 206 to take the top spot with a 7,699 total. Northwestern Ohio and Wright State tied for second place with 7,573.

The men's individual title came down to the final game as Concordia's Alex Ouellete rolled a 215 for a 1,137 pinfall total to edge Northwestern Ohio's James Ebeling by a single pin. Bowling Green State's Derek May was third at 1,132, followed by Rochester's Carter Scillion (1,123) and Toledo's Travis Kominek (1,116).

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

- At the Hawk Classic Invitational in Millsboro, Delaware, the Vanderbilt women paced the field in total pinfall.

- At the Spring Hill Fall Tournament in Mobile, Alabama, the South Florida men and Florida State women made their way to the top of the standings.

- At the Striking Knights Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, Pikeville earned the women's title, while Webber International posted a big win in the men's division.

- At the Bronco Open in Hastings, Nebraska, Hastings claimed the women's and men's titles.

- At the Tiger Cup in Syracuse, New York, the Penn State-University Park men edged Rochester Tech for the men's title, while Mount Aloysius cruised to the top spot in the women's division.

- At the Floria Financial Open in Diamond Bar, California, the Grand Canyon men and women rolled to the top spots.

- At the Oak Tree Open in Diamond Bar, California, the Grand Canyon women completed the sweep in The Golden State while the Nevada-Las Vegas men collected the win.

Only one event will be taking place over the holiday weekend. The National Collegiate Team Match Games will be held at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, Illinois. The tournament will be the third Tier 1 event of the 2018-2019 USBC Collegiate season.
