McEwan takes lead heading into final round of match play at 2019 U.S. Women's Open

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. - Danielle McEwan of Stony Point, New York, won her first six matches Saturday at the 2019 U.S. Women's Open to move into the lead with one round left to go at Texas Star Lanes.
The top five players after 56 games will advance to Sunday's live stepladder finals, which will air on CBS Sports Network at 5 p.m. Eastern. The champion will take home the $20,000 top prize and iconic green jacket.
McEwan, an eight-time Team USA member and four-time Professional Women's Bowling Association Tour champion, finished the block at 6-2 to bring her overall record to 11-5 and total pinfall, including bonus pins, to 10,318.
Indonesia's Tannya Roumimper dropped to second place with a 10,279 total, and defending U.S. Women's Open champion Liz Kuhlkin of Schenectady, New York, went 7-1 during the second round of match play to move into third with 10,121.
Shannon O'Keefe of Shiloh, Illinois, is fourth with 10,087, and Julia Bond of Aurora, Illinois, is fifth with 10,061.
Eight players are within 100 pins of Bond for the final spot in the stepladder finals, including six-time U.S. Women's Open champion and United States Bowling Congress Hall of Famer Liz Johnson of Palatine, Illinois, who is in sixth place with 10,046.
The final round of match play will begin Saturday at 8 p.m. Eastern, and the action will be featured live at BowlTV.com. BowlTV has provided wire-to-wire coverage of the event, showcasing every pair in play.
The 2019 event started with 108 players before the field was cut to the top 36 bowlers after three eight-game qualifying blocks. The 36 advancers bowled eight additional games to determine the 24 competitors advancing to match play.
