USBC Youth watch amateur's win on PBA Tour
April 01, 2010

Brian Ziesig won the Professional Bowlers Association GEICO Mark Roth Plastic Ball Championship to become the first amateur to win a Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour event since 2002.
USBC Youth bowlers Pierce Field, Tyler Cacioppo, Thomas Rocco, Charles Nelson and Michael Arne had the chance to see the PBA Tour event in West Babylon, N.Y., from a unique perspective.
The youth bowlers had special seats for the championship match and watched Ziesig roll three strikes in the 10th frame to tie Australian two-hander Jason Belmonte, 247-247. Then they saw Ziesig win a one-ball, sudden-death roll-off to become the first non-member to win a standard PBA Tour title, and the first amateur to win any PBA Tour title since Brett Wolfe won the 2002 USBC Masters.
The USBC Youth were randomly selected to participate in the PBA/United States Bowling Congress Insiders' Tour from among nearly 300 youths from the area who applied to take part in the program.
The Insiders' Tour, a joint program of the PBA and USBC, gives participants the opportunity to meet their favorite players on the PBA Tour, attend matches and get a behind-the-scenes look at a PBA event.
Field, Cacioppo and Rocco (from left to right) also had the chance to go onto approach to have their picture taken with Ziesig after the title match.
