The Robert Morris-Illinois men and Webber International women finished strong in Baker competition to capture titles at the Midwest Collegiate Tournament over the weekend.

Finding themselves in fourth place after nine traditional games, the Robert Morris-Illinois men rallied through their 12 Baker games at a 218 pace, including a 280 game in the finale, to finish with an 11,881 total. Davenport University finished in second with 11,774, while Calumet College of St. Joseph took third with 11,715.

The Webber International women had a slim lead over Robert Morris-Illinois entering Baker competition, but distanced themselves from the field by averaging nearly 209 in their final 12 games to record the victory by more than 430 pins with a final tally of 11,150. Robert Morris-Illinois held onto second with 10,718, and Wright State University finished third with 10,656.

The University of Toledo's Nick Stone captured the men's top individual spot with a nine-game total of 2,062. McKendree's A.J. Johnson finished second with 2,046, while Midland's Perry Crowell and Webber's Justin Dunn tied for third with 2,017. Dunn kicked off the event with a perfect game and came out of the gates with an 836 series.

Cortney Dingledine of Wright State claimed the top individual honors on the women's side, posting 1,872. Jerracah Heibel of Notre Dame College took second with 1,843, and Tawni Vollmer of Robert Morris-Illinois took home third with 1,814.
