In one of the largest Tier I events of the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season, the Robert Morris-Illinois took the men's title, while Wichita State won the women's division at the Kegel/Illinois State BPA Midwest Collegiate Classic.

RMU rolled to the title by more than 250 pins, finishing with 9,729, while Wichita State took second with 9,468. Lindenwood took the third spot with 9,353, and Notre Dame-Ohio was fourth with 9,262.

Wichita State topped the women's division by a similar margin as they ended up with 9,179, easily topping the second-place total of 8,832 set by Lindenwood. Wright State took third with 8,745, and Calumet was fourth with 8,582.

Lindenwood's Cristian Azcona blasted a six-game total of 1,371 to lead the men's individual standings. Ryan Burks of Calumet was second with 1,360, Steve Kotowski of William Paterson was third with 1,328 and McKendree's Greg Young was fourth with 1,236.

Lillie Miller of Alma topped the women's individual standings with a six-game tally of 1,333. Shannon DeWitt of Wright State was second with 1,328, while Sydney Brummett of Wichita State was third with 1,283. Candice Tovo of Calumet was fourth with 1,281.

A total of 63 men's teams and 56 women's teams took part in the event, which took place at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

- At the Mid-Winter Invitational in Jonesboro, Arkansas, Maryland Eastern Shore defeated host Arkansas State, 4-2, to win the title.

- At the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference IV and V Tournaments in Denton, Texas, and Plano, Texas, the North Texas men and West Texas A&M women picked up victories.

- At the Devil's Duel, the San Jose State men won the Devil's Duel #1 and #2 events.

- At the Hawk Invitational in Utica, New York, the Schenectady men and Corning women earned the titles.

- At the Viking Invitational in Wallingford, Connecticut, the Suffolk men and women swept their way to the titles.
