Collegiate Ticker - Sept. 30, 2015

As the United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season headed into its second weekend, the Wright State women and Northwestern Ohio men picked up victories at the 2015 Cardinal Classic Baker Tournament.

After winning the Racers Classic to open the season last week, the Wright State women were at it again over the weekend, leading the Cardinal Classic field by a wide margin to take the title at Munsee Lanes in Muncie, Indiana.

Wright State finished with a total of 7,185 for 40 Baker games to take the top spot, while Huntington was second with 6,968. The Northwestern Ohio women's team finished third with 6,684.

On the men's side, Northwestern Ohio outdistanced the field with a 40-game total of 7,656. Wright State took the second spot with 7,393, while Clarke rounded out the top three with 7,178.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

- At the Southwestern Intercollegiate Bowling Conference I in Lubbock, Texas, the West Texas A&M men's and women's teams both rolled to more than 500-pin victories over the field.

- At the Green River Classic in Campbellsville, Kentucky, the Pikeville men and women swept the titles.

- At the Wisconsin Collegiate Bowling Conference 1 in Minneapolis, the Wisconsin-Whitewater men steamrolled the competition to take the top spot, while Wisconsin-Milwaukee's women's team edged out Highland for the win.
