U.S. team selected for 2016 PABCON Champion of Champions

ARLINGTON, Texas - Team USA's Tommy Jones, Chris Via, Stefanie Johnson and Shannon Pluhowsky have been selected to represent the United States at the Pan American Bowling Confederation Champion of Champions event in Puebla, Mexico, in April 2016.

A total of 25 countries have been invited to compete at Noria Pro Bowling from April 22-26. The top three countries in both the men's and women's field automatically will qualify for the 2017 World Games, which will be held in Wroclaw, Poland.

"The American Zone continues to produce many talented bowlers, so we will need a strong performance to qualify against this field," Team USA head coach Rod Ross said. "These four athletes bring a great combination of youth and experience as we look for Team USA to earn a spot in the 2017 World Games."

The World Games, held every four years, provides international competition for federated sports that have not been accorded full-medal status in the Olympic Games.

The last World Games was held in 2013 in Cali, Colombia, where Team USA's Kelly Kulick and Mike Fagan combined to win gold in mixed doubles competition. Kulick also captured a silver medal in singles at the Cali Bowling Coliseum.
