Can Bowling Balls Float?

The sport of bowling and science have long worked side by side. It shouldn’t be a surprise that Walter Ray Williams Jr., owner of the most titles in PBA history, also has a degree in physics!

Physics helps to explain how a ball goes through three phases as it travels down the lane (skid, hook, roll) and why the optimum entry angle to carry in the pocket is 6 degrees.

This video investigates another science experiment – whether or not a bowling ball will float!
