O'Keefe leads opening day at 2019 PWBA Twin Cities Open

EAGAN, Minn. - Reigning Professional Women's Bowling Association Player of the Year Shannon O'Keefe of Shiloh, Illinois, moved into the overall lead during Friday's final game at the 2019 PWBA Twin Cities Open.
O'Keefe, a 40-year-old right-hander and eight-time PWBA Tour champion, finished her day at Cedarvale Lanes with a 229 game to get to a 16-game total of 3,466, a 216.63 average.
O'Keefe surpassed Brandi Branka of Belleville, Illinois, who now sits in second place with 3,458. Colombia's Maria José Rodriguez is third with 3,437, opening-round leader Bryanna Coté of Red Rock, Arizona, is fourth with 3,428 and Lindsay Boomershine of Perry, Utah, is fifth with 3,396.
The top 32 players from the 73-player field advanced to the next round, which starts Saturday at 10 a.m. Eastern. The final player to advance to the Round of 32 was Summer Jasmin of Beckley, West Virginia, who finished with a 3,212 total, a 200.75 average.
Defending PWBA Twin Cities Open champion Rocio Restrepo of Colombia dropped out of the cut after rolling 160 in her final game to finish in 33rd place with a 3,201 score.
The top 32 players will bowl eight more games Saturday to determine who advances to the Round of 12, which starts at 3 p.m. Eastern. After six additional games, the top four players based on total pinfall will advance to the stepladder finals.
The stepladder finals will take place at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Saturday. BowlTV.com will livestream all the action on Saturday, including the stepladder finals.
