Nine-Pin Bowling

Nine-Pin Bowling

As the saying goes, “Everything is bigger in Texas.” That premonition usually rings true, unless you’re talking about a few bowling clubs in state which prefer nine pins to 10.

Texas is the only state that features nine-pin bowling, a game that used to be illegal. Nine-pin bowling sets nine pins in the shape of a diamond, instead of the customary triangle featured with 10 pins. In the middle of the diamond is a pin painted a different color, typically red, and the goal is to knock down every pin but that one.
