Creative Ways to Raise Awareness this Summer
Creative Ways to Raise Awareness this Summer
It's summertime! Whether you're part of a summer league or taking a break from bowling, there are some fun and creative ways to raise breast cancer awareness as we head toward the middle part of the year. Take a look at some of the ideas below!
Host a house ball event
No performance balls allowed! You, your friends and anyone else you'd like to invite can get together for a good 'ol fashioned, straight shootin' bowling event. Charge a fee to participate and wear lots of pink!
This kind of event can be done at virtually any bowling center and can include people who don't really bowl a lot. Not to mention it takes off the pressure to perform for those who are used to using performance bowling balls!
Potluck fundraiser
Get some great food and a community to rally around the cause! If the center allows it, you can hold the potluck there and reserve a few lanes. You can make it required that anyone who wants to come has to bring a dish.
Donations can be done with pledge sheets a donation envelope at the event. Invite family, friends and, of course, bowling league buddies. You can also get a Susan G. Komen affiliate involved to help draw attention to your event.
Take up a summer league collection
In a summer league and want to do something on short notice? Taking up a collection is an easy thing to do. Gauge the interest of your league bowlers and make sure your league leadership approves.
You can then pass around a pink bucket during a weekend or league session or pass around a pledge sheet with a manilla envelope (and even a breast cancer fact sheet).
Get the summer polo
Our summer polo has arrived! Not only does 25% of your purchase go to supporting the fight against breast cancer, but your polo will be a beacon of awareness on and off the lanes. Get yours here!
