Incredible Trick Shots
The stars of the Professional Bowlers Association Tour spend countless hours perfecting their craft. Every once in a while, though, they take time out from practice to have a little fun. As it turns out, they got pretty good at trick shots, too. Take a look at a few of the most famous trick shots ever recorded.
As a note, please don’t attempt these at any bowling center without permission from the proprietor!
BAR STOOL STRIKE
Forget bowling under a chair. Osku Palermaa took it to a different height. Literally. Here, the Finnish superstar used his two-handed delivery to loft the ball OVER the bar stool and strike with authority.
THE BIG FOUR CONVERSION
At the 2013 PBA Regional Players Invitational Finals, Chris Barnes found himself already out of the match when he left the 4-6-7-10 in the final frame. Although it didn’t count for score, Barnes gave the crowd a thrill as he threw two balls with one hand to convert the split. Too bad we can’t shoot all splits like that!
THE FLYING EAGLE
Another terrifying split is the 7-10. But what do you do if the 7 pin is on the left lane and the 10 pin is on the right? As Barnes demonstrates, adding one more pin to the mix and knowing the right angles makes it a piece of cake.
DUKE'S SPARE CONVERSION
Norm Duke is a legend in the sport. With 37 PBA titles, including the USBC Masters in 1993, Duke is one of the most successful bowlers of all time. In this shot, he demonstrates his extraordinary skillset by slowly spinning one ball and giving it a nudge down lane. He proceeds to a second ball, throws it around the first ball, leaving a single pin for conversion. Let’s just say that Duke didn’t win 37 titles by missing a lot of spares.
THE TOWEL SHOT
Duke has a few more tricks up his sleeve. Here, he shows his technique for performing his legendary towel shot and then puts all 10 in the pit.
