A member of the Professional Women's Bowling Association for more than 20 years, Cheryl Daniels was recognized for her outstanding accomplishments both on and off the lanes. By the 2002 season, Daniels had earned 10 professional titles, including the 1995 U.S. Women's Open. She also won a Classic Division team championship at the 1995 USBC Women's Championships. Daniels was named Sportswoman of the Year in 1981 by the Coalition of 100 Black Women. Daniels is a member of the halls of fame of the Detroit Women's Bowling Association and the Michigan Women's Bowling Association. Off the lanes, Daniels sang professionally and had her own CD, Dreams. She appeared as a backup vocalist with the singer Martha Reeves of the group Martha and the Vandellas
