Championship Clinics
The ITRC Introduces Championship Tournament Training.
It’s that time of year, the USBC Open Championships Tournament is underway, and the USBC Women’s Championships are just around the corner. The ITRC will now be offering specialized lessons and clinics to help prepare you for competing in these tournaments. Topics will include lane play strategies, equipment selection, and surface preparation. You’ll also get some insight into what makes these prestigious events different than normal leagues and tournaments.
Championship Team Lesson - This is a half day masterclass for you and your team to learn what to expect at these championship events. You will first have a skill and equipment evaluation, followed by a presentation on lane play strategies to use on tougher lane conditions, all this before you even put your bowling shoes on. Once you take to the lanes and warm up on one of last year’s patterns, you’ll be coached through how to find the pocket, how to stay lined up through transition, and the importance of spare shooting. The lesson ends with a discussion about what you’ve learned, and a Q&A session. This 4-hour lesson is for 4 or 5 people, cost per bowler is $200.

Championship Clinic - This is a group clinic and will be limited to the first 20 bowlers for each date and time offered. The clinic starts by heading to the lanes, warming up, and bowling on one of last year’s patterns to see how you line up and how you shoot spares. You’ll take a break and discuss what you experienced and how the lanes played. Next, you’ll learn about the differences between standard conditions and more difficult lane conditions, how to line up properly and stay lined up, and how to approach spare shooting. The lanes will then be re-oiled, and you’ll take another shot at the fresh pattern, this time with more knowledge and a plan of attack. The clinic will end with a Q&A session. Cost per bowler is $100 for this full day clinic.
