Main Event to Join Attractions on Orlando’s International Drive

Dallas-based Main Event Entertainment has signed a lease for its first location in Florida. The facility will be located at Pointe Orlando on International Drive, just a short drive from Orlando’s major theme parks and across the street from the Orange County Convention Center. With a new prototype design, Main Event Orlando is scheduled to open in late 2016.

Main Event Orlando will offer several new features in the nearly 45,000-square-foot center. Twenty “ice-white” lanes, accented by multicolored LED lighting, will create a state-of-the-art bowling experience, with eight premium private lanes adjacent to a comfy lounge that will be ideal for connecting with friends and co-workers. The center also will have an indoor-outdoor bar and a large covered patio with 70-inch LED TV displays, creating a dramatic outdoor experience.

A multi-level laser tag arena and a challenging gravity ropes course suspended over a games gallery with more than 100 interactive and virtual games will add to the action. Two dining areas will feature an extensive chef-inspired menu, specialty pizzas and a full bar serving innovative cocktails, wines and craft and local beers. Catering for corporate and group events will be available in private meeting rooms that open up to the activity in the center.

“The Orlando area has been on Main Event’s radar for quite some time and is an important part of our plans as we expand our fun destination footprint into Florida,” said Main Event President and CEO, Charlie Keegan. “Now that we’ve found the right site, we’re ready to showcase our distinct ‘Eat.Bowl.Play.’ experience in one of the nation’s top entertainment destinations.”

Main Event Entertainment joins Pointe Orlando’s roster of upscale shopping, restaurants and entertainment that includes Tommy Bahama’s Restaurant-Bar-Store, The Capital Grille and Regal Cinemas.

“Main Event further enhances a strong collection of best-in-class dining and entertainment venues that have made Pointe Orlando a successful destination for visitors and locals alike,” said Susan Godorov, Pointe Orlando general manager and vice president of marketing with Brixmor Property Group. “Their exciting ‘Eat.Bowl.Play.’ concept adds another option to Pointe Orlando’s diverse lineup of tenants that offer something for everyone, all at one convenient location.”

Main Event currently operates 21 entertainment centers in Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona, Georgia, Missouri and Illinois. The company has announced plans to open seven new centers by June 2016, and an additional eight new centers in its 2017 fiscal year.
