The Pikeville women and Tennessee Southern men each recorded their first Tier I victory of the 2021-2022 United States Bowling Congress Collegiate season last weekend at the Bowlero Southern Collegiate Classic in Marietta, Georgia.

The women's division featured 17 varsity teams competing at Bowlero Marietta, while the men's field included 29 varsity programs at Bowlero Austell.

All teams bowled six traditional games Saturday and six four-game Baker sets Sunday, with total pinfall determining the champion in each division.

The women's division featured a two-team battle for the top spot, as Webber International held a 24-pin advantage over Pikeville after Saturday's traditional round. Pikeville took the lead after Sunday's first Baker set, but Webber regained the advantage by 28 pins heading into the final four games.

Pikeville started the final set with games of 201 and 202 to reclaim the lead and stayed at the top of the leaderboard, finishing with a 10,206 total to secure the win.

Webber finished second with 10,139, and Tennessee Southern was third with 10,002.

The all-tournament team in the women's division was led by Webber's Jaqueline Witura, who finished with a six-game total of 1,341 (223.5 average). Pikeville teammates Vanessa Fuzie (1,261) and Erica Warne (1,246) finished second and third, respectively, while Savannah College of Art and Design-Atlanta's Taylor Edgerton (1,183) and Tennessee Southern's Lindsay Brown (1,168) also finished in the top five.

In the men's division, Tennessee Southern started the final day of competition at the Southern Collegiate Classic in fourth place and 182 pins behind opening-day leader Savannah College of Art and Design-Savannah.

The Firehawks quickly ascended to the top of the leaderboard Sunday, however, moving into the lead within the first eight Baker games. Tennessee Southern added onto its lead during the final 16 games, averaging nearly 210 on Sunday to run away from the field and post a 298-pin victory with an 11,139 total.

The win marked the first Tier I title for the Tennessee Southern men's program.

William Paterson was second with 10,841, and University of the Cumberlands was third with 10,787.

Tennessee Southern also claimed the top individual honor in the men's division. Hayden Stippich averaged more than 230 on Saturday to lead the field with a 1,382 total.

Life's Colby Hagemoser was second with 1,358, with McKendree's Jorge Rodriguez-Rosas (1,347) and Thomas More's Cole Arsenault (1,320) finishing in third and fourth, respectively. SCAD-Savannah's Alex Glinski and William Paterson's Derek Lewandowski finished tied for fifth with 1,308.

In other collegiate action:

- At the Kat Klash in Houston, the Nebraska women won the deciding game in the bracket against Sam Houston State, 237-207, to record the 4-3 victory.

- At the Medaille Invitational in Kenmore, New York, the Roberts Wesleyan women edged Medaille by seven pins in the title match to collect the win.

- At the Tony Reyes Memorial I and II in San Jose, California, the Grand Canyon men rolled to a pair of victories, while the San Jose State women placed first at each event.

- At the 14th Annual Titan Invitational in Neenah, Wisconsin, the Wisconsin-Whitewater women and men captured the bracket wins.

- At the Bronco Open in Hastings, Nebraska, the Hastings men and Morningside women took home the top spots.

- At the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference No. 2 in Jackson, Michigan, the Indiana Tech women and men finished at the top of the standings.

- At the Buckeye Baker Classic in Columbus, Ohio, the Wright State men and women led the way after 36 Baker games.
