Tiered Certification

Launching May 2025

The United States Bowling Congress (USBC) is proud to introduce a new tiered certification structure for bowling centers. After two years of extensive national data collection, analysis, and industry stakeholder feedback—combined with more than a decade of ongoing research—this updated program recognizes and categorizes bowling centers based on their compliance with USBC Equipment Specifications.

The Four Certification Tiers

Centers will be classified into one of four tiers based on their adherence to USBC specifications, ensuring quality and consistency across the sport:

• Gold: Meets at least 90% of all specifications.
• Silver: Meets 80%–89.9% of all specifications.
• Bronze: Meets 70%–79.9% of all specifications.
• Standard: Meets less than 70% of all specifications.

This structure highlights the efforts of bowling centers to maintain high standards and provides a clear framework for achieving excellence.
