2012 European Women's Masters

A field 60-plus strong will be featured in the European Women's Masters, once again hosted by Bowling Pedralbes in the fantastic city of Barcelona. This popular event, the only international tournament dedicated to a women's field, and includes the President Samaranch Trophy for the competitors under the age of 20, runs March 15-18, 2012 under the direction of the very talented and dedicated Catalan Bowling Federation (FCBB).
Defending champion Clara Guerrero from Colombia, but now living in Texas, is once again on the roster and so is Joline Persson-Planefors of Sweden, who is looking for revenge after losing to Guerrero in last year's best of three game final. As usual, the tournament format calls for six qualifying games with unlimited re-entries and the top 24 advancing to the final rounds on the Sunday morning.
A prize of €3,600 (euro) awaits the champion and there is also €1,000 for the winner of the Samaranch Trophy. Prizes are paid down to 24th place (€300).
Live coverage of all squads will be available on this website from March 15 and live web-streaming of the final by CatTV will be available from approx 16.30 CET (15:30 GMT) on the tournament website, www.fcbb.cat which also carries full details of the event. The timing of the streaming of the final depends on the finish of the best of three game semi-finals, so could be earlier than planned if the semi-finals are both finished over two games.
