Carolinas FEC Pioneer Frank Myatt Sr. Dies

Frank Myatt Sr., a pioneer in the bowling-based family entertainment center business model, has died, Bowlers Journal has learned.
Myatt opened Golden Park in Simpsonville, South Carolina, in the early 1980s, and it included an array of amenities in addition to 32 lanes of bowling. Here is how Golden Park is described on the facility’s website:
“Golden Park is all about fun family quality time without the outrageous price tag. We were founded on the ideals that a family that plays together stays together. In that effort, we have something for everyone, including state of the art bowling, large skating center, overstocked pro shop, video games and a tiki lounge.”

According to Bob Langley of Bowling Center Insurance.com, Myatt also operated Franklin Lanes in Franklin, North Carolina. Langley said that Myatt’s son, Frank Jr., would continue to operate the business.
