Maccarone wins PBA East Region Bryan's Bowling Center Senior Open

LAUREL, Del. – Sam Maccarone of Sewell, N.J., opened the championship match with the first 10 strikes to defeat Kent Wagner of Palmetto, Fla., 289-182 to win the Professional Bowlers Association East Region Bryan’s Bowling Center Senior Open presented by The Insurance Market at Bryan’s Bowling Center Sunday.

Sam MaccaroneThe win was Maccarone’s 13th regional title, his first in over a year.  Maccarone, a three-time East Region Senior Player of the Year, earned $1,800.  Wagner earned $1,200 as the runner-up.

Maccarone defeated PBA Hall of Famer George Pappas of Charlotte, N.C. 267-170, and Wagner defeated Steve Ferraro of Kingston, N.Y., 220-193, in the semifinal round.

Pappas and Ferraro each earned $800 as semifinal round losers.
