STE-SCN Deal Makes XBowling 'Official Mobile App'

Strike Ten Entertainment and Sports Challenge Network have entered into a multi-year agreement that names XBowling as the bowling industry’s official mobile app.
The joint venture seeks to amplify the sport’s appeal to current and new bowlers alike, connecting the physical sport to social mobile game play while at the same time helping bowling centers establish and deepen relationships with their bowlers.
The XBowling app lets bowlers connect and compete head-to-head with other bowlers around the world using their smart phones. The XBowling Business Builder then provides a platform for bowling center proprietors and managers to re-market to their customers via email or in-app notification, customize the app to their bowling center, manage loyalty programs, and receive insightful reports about bowler activity.
“XBowling empowers bowlers to connect and play in a way this sport has never before seen,” said Strike Ten President John Harbuck. “We believe this new technology will galvanize a new level of excitement and participation in the sport of bowling, especially amongst youth players.”
As part of the exclusive multiyear agreement, STE and SCN will launch a robust national XBowling campaign that seeks to attract new bowling fans and sponsors, and further bolster support of the bowling industry as a whole.
XBowling works in every bowling center in the world — more than 5,000 centers in the U.S. alone. It can be used with manual data input, or in XBowling-Activated centers with automatic pinfall capture. Currently, there are more than 300 XBowling-Activated centers across 47 U.S. states and nine countries. XBowling-Activation is free to bowling centers.
“The XBowling platform goes beyond the app, giving bowling centers a way to establish relationships with their bowlers,” Bowling Proprietors’ Association of America Executive Director, Frank DeSocio, said. “The app gives consumers a reason to engage, and the XBowling Business Builder gives proprietors a way to respond with communications and incentives to drive more bowling.”
Noted XBowling CEO Tim Minard: “We are honored and humbled to be a part of the great sport of bowling; it’s a staple in our communities, and one of the original social networks. XBowling strengthens the core nature of bowling, extending socialization, entertainment and competition for bowlers while helping bowling centers form stronger relationships with their customers.”
Added United States Bowling Congress Executive Director, Chad Murphy: “In all sports, you’re seeing a desire by fans and participants to quantify their performance and to share achievements in real-time using the web. XBowling does just that for the sport of bowling, and goes a step further, letting remote participants compete against each other. Collaborating to bring innovation to our classic sport is a goal of the USBC, so we’re pleased to work with XBowling to build a future for the sport.”
This year, XBowling is the title sponsor of the Intercollegiate Team Championships, which brings together the top 16 college men’s and women's teams to compete for the Kerm Helmer Cup. Additionally, the XBowling platform was recently named the official live scoring partner of the USBC Open Championships and the USBC Women’s Championships. Tournament-goers and other fans back home can follow the action in the free XBowling pp or on the web, available at www.XBowling.com/download or at www.XBowling.com/USBC2015. From there, they can view scores of all tournament bowlers as they compete.
