TNBA winners to receive free entry and travel
January 17, 2011

USBC and The National Bowling Association are partnering to offer a special bonus prize for the winners of the 2011 Reed-Hawthorne Memorial TNBA Singles Classic.
Winners in each of the tournament's divisions (men, women and seniors) will receive paid entry and airfare to either the USBC Masters, USBC Queens, USBC Senior Masters or USBC Senior Queens.
"TNBA continues to be a great partner for USBC and fine example of an inclusive organization in our sport," USBC Officer of Education and Diversity Eric Kearney said. "TNBA welcomes all bowlers into the organization and makes USBC certification part of their events. We are thrilled to provide this bonus prize as way of saying thank you."
Founded in 1939 by African Americans, TNBA's mission is a commitment to the principles of sportsmanship, fellowship and friendship within its ranks and throughout the world of bowling. TNBA membership and tournaments are open to everyone.
"We know this has created a buzz within the TNBA bowling community and will bring out the best classic bowlers, not only TNBA members, but other USBC bowlers as well," said TNBA President Dr. Michael Boykins. "This is a win-win for both organizations. It really shows USBC's support of its affinity groups and sets up a template for future opportunities. It also gives TNBA a platform to continue to grow its membership as bowlers come out for this tournament, and hopefully, future events, too."
The 2011 TNBA Singles Classic will be contested in suburban Cleveland on February18-20 at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, Ohio. USBC will provide results coverage on BOWL.com.
