June 11, 2015
ARLINGTON, Texas – A two-time state title winner is one of three high school juniors selected to the 2014-2015 Dexter/United States Bowling Congress High School All-American Team.
The 2014-2015 team marks the 10th year the Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team has been selected. This year’s team includes Jerod Hromek of Towanda, Kansas, a junior who has won the Kansas High School Activities Individual State bowling title the last two years.
“We’re excited once again to recognize 10 high school bowlers who have excelled on the lanes and in the classroom,” Bud Clapsaddle, Vice President of Dexter Bowling, said. “We’re also proud to mark a decade of the Dexter/USBC High School All-American Team.”
Dexter and USBC annually select five boys and five girls from around the country to form the Dexter/USBC High School All-American team. Student-athletes are nominated by their coach or athletic director, and must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade-point average.
In addition to high school bowling accomplishments, nominated athletes must provide a letter of recommendation and a 500-word essay. Each student-athlete will receive a $1,000 scholarship and will be recognized at this year’s Junior Gold Championships in July.
“We appreciate Dexter Bowling’s support of high school bowling over the last decade,” USBC Executive Director Chad Murphy said. “Selection to the Dexter/USBC All-American Team is one of the most prestigious honors a high school bowler can receive, and we congratulate those selected to this year’s team.”
