The Spring Arbor men and Lourdes women may have taken different paths, but each landed at the top of the standings last weekend at the Toledo Classic in Toledo, Ohio.

The event was held at New Glass Bowl Lanes and featured 11 men's and 10 women's varsity programs. All teams bowled four traditional games and 16 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the winner in each division.

In the men's division, Spring Arbor found itself in third place after the traditional block, but the team found its stride during Baker competition. The Cougars averaged more than 201 as a team during their Baker games and held off a late run from Wright State to record the victory with a 7,227 total.

Wright State was second with 7,211, and Trine finished third with 7,182.

Wright State's Jonathan Ciero was the top individual performer in the men's division, rolling games of 240, 206, 265 and 212 for a 923 total (230.8 average). Trine's Austin Robison was second with 918 and was joined in the top five by Toledo's Nathan Low (880), Wright State's Andrew Bleakley (878) and Spring Arbor's David Latter (876).

In the women's division, Lourdes ascended to the top of the standings during the traditional block, building an 89-pin lead over the field. The Gray Wolves maintained and added onto their advantage throughout Baker competition, claiming the title with a 6,827 score.

Spring Arbor made the biggest jump in Baker, moving from sixth to second, finishing with a 6,656 total. Wright State took home third with 6,637.

Along with the team victory, Lourdes' Jordyn Stewart cruised to top individual honors, posting consistent games of 224, 224, 236 and 223 for a 907 total (226.75 average). Bowling Green State's Carly Luken was second with 849, Adrian's Kylie Middleton was third with 847, Wright State's Ashlyn Stollings was fourth with 817 and Walsh's Emily Kiss earned the final spot in the top five with 797.

In other USBC Collegiate action over the weekend:

- At the Hawk Classic in Millsboro, Delaware, the Sam Houston State women completed a wire-to-wire victory by defeating Arkansas State in the title match, 4-2.

- At the Southwest Intercollegiate Bowling Conference (SWIBC) No. 3 and No. 4 in Houston, the Louisiana State men swept the top spots.

- At the Oak Tree Open and Floria Financial Open in Diamond Bar, California, the Grand Canyon men and San Jose State women finished at the top of the standings.
