Pikeville swept the top spots in the men's and women's divisions last weekend at the Buckeye Baker Classic in Columbus, Ohio.

The tournament was held at HP Lanes and included eight men's teams and 10 women's teams in the varsity division. The format featured 25 Baker games, with total pinfall determining the winner.

In the men's division, Pikeville found itself down 59 pins to Lincoln Memorial heading into the final five games. The Bears averaged 201 during those five games and took advantage of two games below 170 by Lincoln Memorial to claim the win with a 4,941 total. Lincoln Memorial finished with 4,877 to finish in second, while Bowling Green State (4,718) was third.

The Pikeville women won their second consecutive title in demanding fashion after edging Martin Methodist at last week's Bowling Green Baker Bash in Bowling Green, Kentucky, but just 16 pins.

The Bears posted a 386-pin victory over the field at HP Lanes, finishing with a 4,799 score. Pikeville rolled a pair of games over 250 on its way to the win, including a 275 game to pace the women's field. Lincoln Memorial (4,413) and Notre Dame-Ohio (4,359) followed in the standings.

In other collegiate action:

- At the Lady Techsters Invitational I and II in Savannah, Tennessee, the Louisiana Tech and Vanderbilt women earned the top spots in total pinfall, respectively.
