USBC National High Average, Series Awards announced for 2019-2020 season

ARLINGTON, Texas - Professional Women's Bowling Association Tour champion and Team USA member Liz Kuhlkin of Schenectady, New York, again finds herself in the spotlight, this time earning the United States Bowling Congress National High Average Award for recording the highest women's average during the 2019-2020 season.
Kuhlkin, a 27-year-old right-hander, averaged 240 for 69 games during the Reis Group Kim Brown Memorial league at Schenectady's Towne Bowling Academy.
The 2018 U.S. Women's Open champion won the USBC National High Series Award during the 2016-2017 season. Kuhlkin set the national record for the highest three-game series by a woman when she rolled games of 300, 300 and 290 for an 890 series.
The men's high average winner for the 2019-2020 season is Charles Easton of Sylvania, Ohio, who posted a 256.5 average for 84 games at the Oakie Schroyer III Memorial league at Jug's Bowling Center in Toledo, Ohio.
Easton's average ranks as fourth on the all-time average list, with Jeff Carter of Springfield, Illinois, holding the record with a 261.7 average during the 2000-2001 season.
To go along with his 256 average, Easton, 29, averaged 252 in 2017-2018 and 249 in 2018-2019 at the Oakie Schroyer III Memorial league.
Both youth USBC National High Average Awards are headed to Pennsylvania, as Zachary Trimmer of Lebanon and Alyssa Breidegam of Sinking Spring collected the 2019-2020 awards in the Youth Male and Youth Female divisions, respectively.
Trimmer, 19, averaged 235.5 for 84 games in the Dutch Majors league at 222 Dutch Lanes in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.
Breidegam, 18, finished the season with a 227.5 average for 75 games at the Tuesday Jr. Scholarship league at Sinking Spring's Berks Lanes.
Former Team USA member Wesley Low Jr. of Palmdale, California, earns the men's USBC National High Series Award for rolling a 900 series during the 44th Annual Ponderosa Singles Classic at Glenfair Lanes in Glendale, Arizona.
Low, a 23-year-old left-hander who uses a two-handed approach, became the 36th bowler to roll a 900 series, and his performance on July 19, 2020 was the 37th USBC-approved 900 overall.
Angi Whitley of Platte City, Missouri, earned the women's USBC National High Series Award after throwing games of 279, 299 and 300 for an 878 series on Jan. 24, 2020 at Gladstone Bowl in Gladstone, Missouri.
Whitley, 48, put together her series during the GL 11 - Northland Mixer league.
The youth USBC National High Series Awards were earned by Madelyn Lathrop of Sycamore, Illinois, and Cody Brunner of Middletown, Pennsylvania.
Lathrop, 18, won the youth female award after posting her first USBC-certified 800 series with games of 299, 249 and 278 for an 826 set at the Pepsi Zone 1 Tournament at The Cherry Bowl in Rockford, Illinois. Lathrop's performance took place Feb. 29, 2020.
Brunner, 19, rolled games of 300, 297 and 269 for an 866 series to win the youth male award. His award-winning series was Feb. 15, 2020, at the North Scratch 2019-2020 league at ABC North Lanes in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
