2011 USBC Open Championships lane condition now available

RENO, Nev. - The start of the 2011 USBC Open Championships is days away, and bowlers who have been curious about this year's oil pattern now can see the condition they'll be facing at the National Bowling Stadium.

The tournament kicks off March 4 and will run for 122 consecutive days before concluding on July 3. Competition will run from 7 a.m. until 3 a.m. daily, and more than 63,000 bowlers will make their way to The Biggest Little City in the World to compete in team, doubles and singles.


The oil pattern for the 2011 Storm Bowlers Journal Championships presented by USBC also is now posted.

The pattern this year is 41 feet in length and applies 27.35 mils of conditioner per lane.

The lanes will be oiled before the 7 a.m. doubles and singles squad and again before each team event (2:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.). *Because of varying squad sizes, there is no guarantee that all lanes will be bowled on during each squad.

*Note: Our lane machines incorporate transfer brush technology with a "drop brush" feature. The pattern numbers can be loaded into transfer roller machines as is.
