2022-2023 USBC National High Average, Series Award Winners Announced

ARLINGTON, Texas – The reigning PWBA Player of the Year has added another accomplishment to her resume as Jordan Richard of Tipton, Michigan, has claimed the woman’s National High Average for the 2022-2023 season.
Richard is one of nine award winners being recognized for their performances throughout the season. The USBC National High Average and Series Awards are presented to adult male and female USBC members and youth USBC members in male and female divisions.
She averaged 252.27 for 69 games in the Sportsman league at Monroe Sport Center in Monroe, Michigan. Her performance over the course of the season has also put her at the top of the women’s all-time average list, jumping fellow PWBA member Shannon Pluhowsky, who previously held the top average with 250.7, which was set during the 2017-2018 season.
This is Richard’s second time claiming the top average as she previously won in 2020-2021.
The men’s high average award for 2022-2023 belongs to Ben Trueg of Parkersburg, Iowa, who averaged 253.52 for 69 games in the Wednesday Afternooners league at Maple Lanes in Waterloo, Iowa. Over the course of his season, he had five 800 series and five 300 games.
The youth high average awards go to Melia Mitskavich of DuBois, Pennsylvania, and Ethan Crouse of Lowville, New York.
Mitskavich averaged 236.12 for 75 games during the DuBois Lanes Juniors league at DuBois Lanes, Inc. This is her second straight year taking high youth female average.
Crouse averaged 251.37 for 78 games during the Lowville Youth league at Lewis Lanes to win youth male average. Crouse also was a part of the winning U18 team at the Youth Open Championships.
Two competitors on the adult men’s side share the top honors for the adult male USBC National High Series Award with an 899 series during the 2022-2023 season.
David Moragas of Slidell, Louisiana, had his 899 series first, firing it during the Wednesday Pepsi league at Park Ten Lanes on Dec. 21, 2022.
Joe Susanek of Imperial, Pennsylvania, had his 899 series a few months later on Feb. 22, 2023, at Holiday Lanes during the Valley League 2023.
Nikoletta Battistoni of Sand Lake, New York, earned the adult female high series award with an 866 series, which she rolled on July 3, 2023, at Del Lanes in Delmar, New York during the Summer Semi Classic league. She rolled games of 299, 267 and 300.
In the youth divisions, Jameson Cauble of Hampstead, North Carolina, and Jocelyn Smith of Glens Falls, New York, had the top sets of the 2022-2023 season.
Cauble shot 877 during his Monday Youth league on Jan. 9, 2023, at Cardinal Lanes Beach Bowl with games of 277, 300 and 300.
Smith had an 824 series on Feb. 3, 2023, at Kingpins Alley Family Fun Center during her KPA Juniors league, shooting games of 245, 279 and 300.
