Adam Barta Blasts Guinness World Record for Pinfall

Adam Barta has achieved his goal of setting a new Guinness World Record for highest pinfall in an hour by an individual. Barta's 2708 total blasted by 576 pins the previous record, set by George Frilingos at Chemside Hyperbowl in Queensland, Australia, when he posted a 2132 pinfall in an hour in November 2014.
Barta set the record at The Game in Wickliffe, Ohio, during The National Bowling Association's Reed-Hawthorne Memorial Classic this past weekend. Be sure to check out the upcoming March issue of Bowlers Journal, which features an interview with Barta in which he discusses the preparation required to attempt this feat, why Frilingos's record was so extraordinary, and how Barta's attempt to eclipse it became associated with a very personal and emotional fundraising effort on behalf of families affected by cancer.
Barta estimates the event, seen live on MichiganBowler.tv with Craig Elliott, raised approximately $3,000 for the BartaNational Families Foundation.
A release on the event from MichiganBowler.tv stated that "Both Adam and Craig's Families have been directly affected by what cancer can do to family members and are very gracious to all the bowling fans that donated to the cause during the event, and also the companies that offered great product to help raise money."
Those companies included Turbo, Hammer, Axis Sportswear, and National Amateur Bowler Rankings.
