Anderson returns to USBC Open Championships after all-events win

RENO, Nev. – Team USA’s Andrew Anderson secured his second Eagle at the United States Bowling Congress Open Championships in 2025 with a victory in Regular All-Events, helping highlight a spectacular year on the lanes for the talented right-hander.

Anderson, of Chesterfield Township, Michigan, posted the top nine-game score at the Raising Cane’s River Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with a 2,184 total. He recorded sets of 763 in team, 754 in doubles and 667 in singles to outdistance the field.

The 763 series in team represented the top individual number in 2025 on the challenging lane condition used for the event, and he put the finishing touches on the performance with a 244 game to close singles.

Anderson – the 2018 USBC Masters champion and Professional Bowlers Association Player of the Year – added the win alongside his victory in Regular Singles at the 2021 event in Las Vegas (802 series).

He’s also the owner of two perfect games at the Open Championships, rolled in 2019 (singles) and 2022 (team). A pair of Anderson’s teammates also have two 300s at the tournament – his brother Matthew Anderson of Las Vegas (2014 and 2024) and Craig Nidiffer of Dearborn Heights, Michigan (2023 and 2026).

Anderson’s run in 2025 started at the U.S. Open, where he earned the top seed for the stepladder finals and finished as the runner-up at the major championship. He followed shortly after with his first singles title since 2018 by winning the PBA Mike Aulby Nevada Classic, and he collected his sixth PBA Tour title just before heading to Baton Rouge at the PBA Tour Finals.

He also went on to win the PBA LBC National Championships Clash in 2025.

In his recent return to the Open Championships, Anderson was presented with his championship watch prior to taking the lanes at the National Bowling Stadium.

In his title defense, he put together sets of 691 in team, 690 in singles and 571 in doubles for a 1,952 total. His performance in team helped Holly Lanes #1 to a 3,327 total, which currently places the group in the top 20 of the Regular Division.

Junior Team USA’s Jacob Bockstie of Nottingham, Maryland, leads Regular All-Events in 2026 with 2,277.
